We wanted wood-look floors, granite counters, a fresh kitchen backsplash, undermount sinks, raised ceilings, a rainfall showerhead, a soaking tub, upgraded insulation, and on and on. We did, however, come up with a design plan that suits both our tastes and our budget. We spent most of our upgrade budget on structural upgrades. We selected things that would add to our enjoyment of the home, like a covered patio for hot summer days, or a separate soaking tub in the master bath for some post-Disney relaxation.
